Showing single posts of a Custom Post Type in WordPress

  1. Create a custom post type
  2. Duplicate the single.php file in your template and rename it like single-{post_type}.php (eg. single-movie.php). Now when you open a single post of a custom post type WordPress will checks for you the corresponding single file.
  3. Finally, flush the permalinks from WordPress > Settings > Permalinks > Save Changes. I have no memory of how many times I forgot to do this and how much time I wasted around it because of this fucking trick!
